Mark Whit:-, HI-Y AND TRI-HI-Y CLUBS The Hi-Y and Tri-Hi-Y movement - world wide in its scope - has just been begun in the high school this year. lt is a YMCA program, geared to the needs of the high school students, in which each member pledges to create, maintain and extend throughout the home, school and community high standards of Christian character. lts plat- from is clean speech, clean sportsmanship, clean scholarship, and clean living. There are two Tri-Hi-Y Chapters fgirlsl, and a Hi--Y Chapter Cboysl. The Deftera Chapter of the Tri-Hi-Y, sponsored by Mrs. Cook, has as its officers, President - Sandra Hood, Vice Presi- dent - Susan Griggs, Secretary - Betty Ann Harrell, Treasurer - Frances McLean, Chap- lain - Ruth Thompson. The Epsilon Chapter of the Tri-Hi-Y Chapter, sponsored by Miss Bowry, has officers as followsg President - Diane McCombs, Vice President - Linda Hearne, Secretary - Penny Riera, Treasurer - Alyce Savage, Chaplain - Arlene Clark. Georgia Farwell. l TER ATIO AL RELATICNS CLUB Georgia Farwell Lee Dodge Margaret Beasley Mrs. Barbara Palmer Miss Jo Ann Utley The International Relations Club was or- ganized to give students a n apportunity to learn more about people of other countries. Members of the club prepared an exhibit on articles from foreign countries. We collected dolls, money, silverware, shoes, paintings, and shells from foreign countries. The club received a letter from a college President Vice-President Secretary H Sponsor Sponsor student in Japan in which he told about his school and the Japanese people. An interest- ing letter was also received from a girl in Panama. Miss Utley sponsored our club during the first semester and Mrs. Palmer was our spon- sor for the second semester.
