Class History We pause to write our history and mem- ories are recalled of all the things we grew to love, the fun, and the life we knew. Could it have been twelve years ago that all of this began? What was it then as we look back, that made these years so grand? On that first day of school in 1947 , came six of our present seniors all scrubbed and eager, with freckles and missing teeth. How many could have recognized Betty, Judy, Ia net Mary, Bill and little Bobby Lang? We learned to count, to read and write, to walk in single file, and you can bet there were other things that cause us now to smile! We passed along, the years sped by. Dick Kimball came. . .the eighth grade made its trip to Albany and Cooperstown. . .we rode the Mary Moran, no better sailors ever. Can we ever forget our freshman year with Coach Seither urging us on, or the pancake supper, or the addition of Peck's bad boy, Dick Neal? Coach stayed with us another year, and Ed Reeve joined our group. As sophomores we schemed our schemes to fill our treasure chest. Then struggling on, we reached our junior year. We got om' rings , expensive things , and wowed them with our Prom. . .our Bongo Brew . . . the Caribbean Cruise. We smelled of grease paint, shook with fright but troopers that we were, poured out our talent in that play, Oh, Man! September and nine came through to bear that hallowed name of senior. The whirl began, the record hops , the magazines , the pictures , suppers, groan, the play, the games , the year- book, and Heaven help us , Homework! We're not through yet, there's still the trip, and tests , and graduation. But it is strange how sad and glad and full of mixed emotion we find ourselves at leaving here, our school, our Virgil Central. Class Will I, Bill Wamow , leave my height to Denny Rew. I, Edgar Reeve, leave my ability to stay away from girls co Chauncey Bennett. I, Dick Neal, bequeath my trim figure to David Pond. I, Ianet Hutchings, will my peroxide hair to Susan Griswold. I, Dick Kimball, leave my desire to go steady with one girl to Chuck Olin. I, Mary Barnum , will my favorite seat in detention to Trudy Taylor. I, Iudy Reynolds , will an early engage- ment to Dorothy Fisk. I, Bob Lang, leave my sports ability to Wayne Congdon. I, Betty Stevens , bequeath love and marriage to Iudy Wilk. To the Iuniors, we leave the thrill and excitemmt of the Junior Prom .... To the Sopho- mores , their money's worth from their class rings .... and to the Freshmen , we leave to them a long, long road ahead. We, the Senior Class of 1959 being of sound mind and body, do declare this our last will and testament.
