Ogfre Gfass Gstory The year 1946 brought ll of our present 18 members to the first grade with Mrs. Cary diligently trying to keep Dave Kryger and Liz Harendorf from kissing in the closet. In fourth grade the whole class was in a turmoil over the mystery of who threw the peanut butter sandwich away. It was two hours before Linny Griswold finally ad- mitted the deed. We finally learned about the far state of California when George Severance joined us in fifth grade. We were catching on to the tricks of the trade in the sixth grade and found ourselves outside the door a lot of the time. A lot of memories came back from seventh grade but the most vivid was sitting on the floor with gum Cof all'thingsJ stuck on our noses. With great reluctance Brooklyn gave up Ralph and Ada MacLeod and we welcomed them with open arms in the seventh grade. George Brown and Pat Burleigh were added to our nest in the eighth grade and with the bouncing bubbling crew we set out for Albany a half hour late because, our advisor, tried and true Mrs. McKibben, overslept! Margot Cory was Valedictorian and Ada MacLeod was Salutatorian of our graduating class. Being a freshman wasn't all we had anticipated but when Carol Gleason came it brightened. These were the good ole days when several girls, namely the most talkative, could have a gab fest in the cafeteria with no teachers within blocks. Come our sophomore year a lot of us remember making up time for our little jaunt to Cornell during Farm and Home week. Seeing the Campus was fun but what followed wasn't. We found out that dynamite comes in small packages when Libby Coons arrived. V The junior year found us fervently learning our lines for our most successful Cupid in Pigtails . Most of us all but robbed the First National in Cortland to pay for our rings which arrived in January. This year also brought us Barb Roy whom we were happy to add to our class. Rowena Haskins made a gracious and lovely Queen and Ralph MacLeod was an equally charming and handsome King. Pat Sherman was our Princess and Dave Kryger was the Prince. Then at last our long awaited Senior year. But to our exasperation it was still school and not as glamourous as we had imagined. Our last and final member was added this year. Mike Salka joined our hard working, industrious class. When this yearbook has been published we all hope that as a fitting climax to our four years of high school we will be having happy memories of our Washington trip.
