JUNIOR HISTORY FRESHMEN ARE USUALLY GREEN.WE WERE GREEN- EST OF THEM ALL. EIGHTY THREE GOOD LOOKING FRESHMEN GATHERED INTO ONE Room TEACHER WAS wONDERING WHAT T0 DO WITH ALL OF us, WHEN IN STEPPED PROFESSOR BROWNING, GIVING THE GIRLS A HEARTAGHE BY TELLING THE BOYS THAT HE WOULD BE THEIR HOME ROOM TEACHER, THAT LEFT THE GIRLS BY THEMSELVES. WE DID NOW HAVE TIME TO POWDER OUR NOSES AND GOMB OuR HAIR BEFORE SEEING THE BOYS AGAIN. ELIZABETH BRASHEAR BEGAME PRES- IDENT OF OUR GLASS WITH GENEVIEVE BRASHEAR SECRETARY, WE MET WITH MR. BROWNING AND DREW UP A CLASS CONSTITUTION. OUR NINE MONTHS OF SCHOOL SOON ROLLED AROuND.SATuRDAY NIGHT MARCH 22, WE GAvE A GLASS PARTY. WHEN WE ENTERED OUR SOPHOMORE YEAR, INS- TEAD OF BEING GREEN, WE WERE JUST PLAIN SILLY So THEY SAID. WE HAD A NEW PROFESSOR MR. DREYFUS BRASHEAR, wHO KEPT us AT WORK. WE GOT ALONG WITH MR. BINGHAM BRASHEAR, OUR HOME ROOM TEACHER, FINE, EXCEPT WHEN WE TDRNED OuR LOUD NOISE INTO A ROAR. WE HAD A GLASS PARTY WHICH EVERY ONE SEEMED T0 ENJOY. OuR GLASS HAD THE BEST GROUP OF BASKETBALL PLAYERS IN SCHOOL,OUR I ivy' Xxx HANDSOME BOYS WON THE GLASS TOURNAMENT. WE ARE SO JOLLY IN OuR JUNIOR YEAR THAT I WE THINK ALL THE TEACHERS LIKE US. WE THINK so ALTHOUGH WE GOT A HGOING OVERU FOR BEING LATE FOR ROLL CALL SOMETIMES, WE THINK MR. SMITH LIKES US ALL. HE IS GOOD T0 us AND HAS DONE EVERYTHING HE COULD T0 HELP us TO RAISE MONEY FOR THE BANQUET FOR THE OIGNIFIED SENIORS, wHo WE THINK ARE VERY GOOD BOYS AND GIRLS IALSO THE MARRIED LADIESI, WE HAVE SOLD GHANGES ON A RADIO PHONOGRAPH COMBINATION AND RAISED MON- EY FOR OuR JUNIOR'SENIOR BANQUET. THE SGHOOL PAPER IS PUBLISHED EACH TWO WEEKS BY OUR CLASS AND WE WANT T0 THANK MR, SMITH FOR HIS KIN' DNESS, T0 HELP AND ASK HIS FORGIVENESS FOR HIS GRAY HAIRS. SOPHOMORE CLASS HISTORY AUGUST I9, I946 WE STARTED OUT AS EIGHTH GRADERS, HAVING THE TIME OF ouR LIFE. OuR HOME ROOM TEACHER WAS MISS JUNETH RDARK. WHILE WRITING HISTORY QUESTIONS ONE MORNING MISS ROARK WAS HIT IN THE BACK WITH A PAPER WAD, OF COURSE IT couLD NEVER HAVE BEEN LIGE, LEDN, OR PAUL wHo WERE THE HBESTU ONES IN ouR CLASS.ALL THROUGH OUR EIGHTH GRADE YEAR ouR TEACHERS SAID WE WERE UNCIVILIZED. So, WE DECIDED TO MAKE UP A PLAY FOR CHAPEL ACTING ouR NORMAL SELVES. AFTER WE HAD GIVEN THE PLAY, MR. BRO' WNING SAID HE WOULD NEVER HAVE RECOGNIZED us HAD WE NOT ACTED so FOOLISH. AT THE BEGINNING ouR OUR FRESHMAN YEAR THE SIXTY OF us WERE SEPARATED INTO TWO ROOMS. WE HAD A VALENTINE AND CHRISTMAS PARTY. PART OF THE FRESHMAN GAVE A DEBATE ABOUT THE CITY AND COUNTRY RoLxs, WHICH EVERYONE ENJOYEDG THIs YEAR STARTED OUT A LITTLE sETTER.THE CLASS BEING ALL TDGETHER. Now BEING MORE ACC- USTOMED T0 THE PERsoNALITY or EACH DTHER, WE ARE BETTER ACQDAINTED, AS A cLAss, WITH ouR TEACHERS. THE SOPHOMORE CLASS IS HWELL OFFH, wI'rH ALL ouR coMEDIANs: LUCILLE QREDD, J. M., AND DELLA, AND THE FAMOUS HWORM TRIDH: NANCY, LUCILLE, AND LDRENE HARVEY, NEITHER MUST UE FORGET ouR OWN JOHN FERGUSON A STAR BASKET- BALL PLAYER AND RAPIDLY COMING UP. WE ARE DISTINGUISHED TO BE HAVING JACK AND EDWARD AS MUTT AND JEFF, AND THE BARBARA, PHYLLIS, AND CONCHITA TRIO, NTHE BIG THREEH. NEW ONES ADDED T0 OUR cLAss THIS YEAR ARE ALLENE ADAMS, LORENE HARVEY, J. M. ELLINGTON, AND BUSTER COUDILL.
