Yearbook Staff presents 2 School Table of Contents Features...................7 Classes...................29 Faculty...................49 Organizations.............57 Sports....................83 Senior Activities.........99 Advertisements...........Ill 3 Principal’s Message In this changing world with many current trends in education, religion, foreign policy and in numerous other fields, it is a real challenge for one to succeed in his endeavors or ‘‘walk of life.” However, because each member of the yearbook staff possesses very strong values—whether intrinsic or functional, perhaps both--we have another record in picture and print of Vinton High School for your memories. Congratulations to the Souvenir staff and sponsor of 1967-68. In Memory of Mr. Jim Granger I can not say and I will not say that he is dead, he is just away. With a cheery smile and a wave of the hand he has wondered into an unknown land and left us dreaming how very fair it needs must be since he lingers there. « A. J. We would like to thank them for a job well done. 56 The Souvenir Staff shows their relief at getting the shipment off on time. Sports Editor, Gail Comeaux, and her as- sistant, Lionel Alamond, look over several football pictures for their section. Carol Istre, Features Editor, and her assis- tant, Linda Courmier, seem to be having difficulties in selecting just the right pic- tures for their section. Souvenir Staff Yearbook Editor, Carolyn LeBlanc, and sponsor, Mr. W. Miller, discuss picture sales and other problems faced by the year- book staff. 58 HELPERS: Cindy Linscomb, Pat Istre, Genelle Haggard, these girls are a big help to all of us because they assist everyone. Our financial problems are taken care of by Barbara Allen, Business Manager, and her assistant, Sharon Landry. Organization Editor, Marlene Moreland, looks over several of her pictures for the next shipment. Her assistant is Amanda Walker (not shown). Our Index Editor, Sandra Jennings, and her assistant, Cathy Granger, seem to be hunt- ing for something in their files. Our photographer, Ada Lou Cormier, and her assistant, Tony Pickett, have been do ing a great job on pictures. 59 Beta These are a few scenes of Beta Club members decorating the Beta Club Christ- mas tree in our lobby. We feel that this tree boosts the Yuletide spirit of the stu- dents at Vinton High School. The tree was furnished by donations of pennies from the student body. This seemed to be the best money raising idea and got everyone into the Christmas feel- ing of giving. Although, this was only the Beta Club's second year to put a tree up, they hope to continue doing so in the future. 60 SEATED: T. Pickett, C. Granger, S. McBride, T. Roxana W. 109 Editor: CAROLYN LEBLANC Editor’s Message To the student body: Its finally arrived--the moment we’ve all been waiting for. It was lots of hard work. Copy deadlines to meet, pictures to take, waiting for the developing and enlarging of pictures and of course the layouts. There were a few of us who thought we would have nervous breakdowns, but you know something if we had it to do again we’d jump at the opportunity to do it. We enjoyed putting it together for you and we hope we have captured all the memories of the year as you would like to remember them. I now present to you the 1968 Souvenir. no s4ctventc6en PAUL’S PHARMACY 10th and Park Streets Dial TU 3-3533 Orange, Texas Seniors display sophomores ability to make cakes Compliments of DR. AND MRS.
