SOUVENIR VINTON HIGH SCHOOL We, the Staff of the Souvenir, have tried in every way possible to make our annuals meet with your approval. It is our sincerest hope that as each new year approaches and our Souvenir is taken over by a new staff that they will strive to make a bigger and better annual. We wish to thank the faculty and especial- ly our sponsor, Miss Iva Cox, for the splendid work and cooperation they have given us. C. Semple. Mr. Semple came to our school October 22, 1940 and on May 12, 1943 he left for the Air Corps in which he was an instructor of physics, principles of flight and mathe- matics in a pre-flight school. Louise Redman The Vinton District No. 15, was created on October 11, 1906, and a special five-mile tax was voted for 5 years “for erecting, constructing and equipping a school building.” At this same time Vinton made application to become a high school which request was granted upon the strength of the qualification presented. By the beginning of the season of 1910-1911, the Vinton High Schoolhad become a state approved high school, with C.E. Labord as principal. The high school gym was constructed in 1939. FACULTY Mr. H.
