1-N-HDCPS he freshmen girls' basket- ball teams had awesome seasons.gThe A team won nineteen and lost one. The B team also lost only one game. The A team won the district champion- ship. It was the second district championship for head coach Sheila Lynch this year. The girls worked hard, practicing every morning from 7:30 until 9:00. Coach Lynch used her expertise to form the best team she could. The girls followed her instructions and used their talents to produce amazing seasons. RUNNING TO DISTRICTS he '86-'87 freshman track team had an admittedly me- diocre season. The Viking thinclads struggled through the season and into the district meet. Eyebrows were raised, though, when Vines ran away with a sur- prising second place finish, beat- ing out a tough Sherman high school team for the second spot. Although the Vikings struggled at first, they ended the season with a running success! 79
