INDERELLA OPI-IS o be a Sophomore Girls Basket- ball player takes many traits, you have to be a team player, hard-worker, smart, strong, player who can make split-second decisions, and you must be a player with desire. Every girl on the Sophomore Girls Basketball Team had all of these traits and their district championship proves that. Al- though these players were very impor- tant, the key person was their leader, Coach McKeon. She brought them through hard times when they were down. She made those split-second decisions that make every team great, but most of all, she had a big heart. The heart to get up early in the morn- ing, along with the girls. The heart to bring the team from off-season, to the very first 7:30 A.M. practice, to the championship game against an almost unbeatable Williams team. In this re- markable game, in which the Vikings weren't suppose to be, free throws and hustle were the keys, as through most the season. The girls finished off a Cin- derella season by coming back to beat a bigger Williams team. Although these girls have no glass slippers, they were the Cinderella team of the district. We are proud of our Sophs, as they should be proud of themselves.
