WHY ave you ever entered into a room you've been in since the be- ginning of the school year and all of a sudden noticed something new? The person sitting next to you kindly informs you it has always been there, and you can't get over the fact that you've never no- ticed it before. Here's a list of the little things not everyone notices, and no one seems able to explain why they are there. Why is each classroom door painted a different color? Why are there slits in the top and bottom of every locker? Why are those hooks in the lockers, and why are there six of them? Why are there holes in the backs of the plastic chairs? How come the custodians lock all the upstairs bathrooms before the end of sixth period? fWhy is the weightlifting room on the fgirls' side of the gym? iWhy is there only Hi-C in the Coke machines in the cafetorium, and why we're on the subject, why are the steps in the bottom portion of the cafetorium where it's too dark to see exactly where they are? Why doesn't the gym divide into two equal parts? Why are the girls in the smaller side of the gym? What are those large steps next to the gym for? IS THERE What was the presentation room de- signed for and why are there desks in there? Why don't they have two sets of bleachers, one on each side of the gym? Why is there never any soap in the bathrooms to go with those beautiful round sinks? By the way, who de- signed those sinks, and why is there always one jet that always streams water out onto the floor? Why are the mirrors so small in the girls' bathroom? Why does every teacher say that they hate to give a student a tardy but then do it anyway? Why are there no hallway doors to certain classes and teachers' offices to prevent disturbing a class by walk- ing through it? Why did someone put those small windows on the doors to every class- room? Why do students insist on buying folders with brads in them only to never use them? Why do some teachers give really strange hall passes such as doors and toilet seats? Why does school start at 8:31 instead of ringing the first bell at 8:24 and starting school at exactly 8130? Why isn't the school decorated in the school colors purple and white? And finally, what is the Viking Cen- ter? N O COKE Did you ever notice the guys' weight room is on the gmls' side of the gym?
