Well, that's not the only thing FHA does. FHA prepares students for working with peers and it teaches leadership. They learn how to do things that will help them when they have a home of their own. With twenty five students in FHA, they meet the first and third Wednesday of every month to discuss new and exciting things to do. This year the homemak- ers will be involved in several activities such as The Great American Smoke Out, Families and Futures, and Students Against Drunk Driving.

ROTC THEY MARCH TO THE BEAT OF A DIFFERENT DRUMMER . ecause they drilled hard, the Vines ROTC Batallion had an exceptionally rewarding year. At the beginning of the year, a car wash produced funds for a fun trip to Six Flags. Then the real hard work began. Tc prepare for the end of the year's Annual Formal Inspection and Command Inspection, ROTC members were put through different drills, tested on knowledge of chains of command, and were put through different weapon drills with rifles. During the holiday season, a Turkey Shoot was held over at the senior high, and a Christmas parade through Plano was on December 7 where ROTC members proudly marched representing their schools, The men's and women's drill teams and the varsity rifle team took several trips to institutions around the state to compete in varying drills. To put an end to their year of acheivement, the Vines ROTC held an awards banquet at the senior high where they danced and dined while listening to speakers praise them on their many honors. .
