erek Drohan keeps his eyes tightly shut in anticipation of a dress- g down by his drill sergeant. Right, Left, Right, yells the drill sergeant. Alison Rockhold keeps her eyes straight ahead in preparation for AFI Annual Inspection The members of ROTC have made this year a great one, but it wasn't just all fun and games. It took long hours of hard work, but it was worth it because they learned about discipline and about leadership. I have learned many things in ROTC such as discipline and leadership said Phoc Hang. ROTC is divided into several groups which are Drill Team, Rifle Team, Color Guard, and first-aid Team. These teams strive for perfection at the An- nual Formal Inspection, Command Inspection and weekly inspections. Some of the activities that ROTC participate in are the Christmas Parade. They marched three miles which started at 7:15. It was a very important event because they marched in front of a con- gressman, a senator and a governor. They also par- ticipated in the AH in Dal- las. They were inspected on their marching and uniforms. ROTC was not just all work; they participated in several fun things. They went on a field trip to Oklahoma to see army forts. They also had an an- nual ball. And finally a fun trip to Six Flags. ROTC is a lot of work, but we do many fun things, said Martin Guillot. ROTC also prepares the members for different things after high school. The class gives us many opportunities when we are out of school, said Jim Kossack. 233
