Although they were drilled hard. the Vines ROTC managed to have an exciting and rewarding year. At the start of the year a picnic. car wash. and a trip to UTA and Six Flags were a part of the curriculum. This put everyone on the right foot to begin a year of hard work. The Rangers went to two Orienteering Meets and a Ranger exercise at Fort Wolters and Fort Hood. The Rifle and Drill Teams went traveling all around the state including Galveston. All of the Cadets went to San Antonio and Forts Sill and Polk for field trips. For fun and relaxation. a Tur- key Shoot and the Christmas Parade got the Thanksgiving and Christmas seasons off to a good start. Also. in February. a Mili- tary Ball was given in their honor. And to sum up their year of achievement. an Awards Banquet was given in May. The whole year though was not all fun and travel. the Annual Formal Inspection and Com- mand lnspection are two tough times of the year for the ROTC and a lot of time and effort are put forth in order to pass.
