Coach Jeffries graplers really lowered the boom this year. Vines wrestlers had an ll win, l loss and 1 tie record which was the very best ever in Vines wres- tling history. All the team was very proud of this record. Wres- tling sort of came alive in 1980. The whole team plus a few more set out to break a human pyramid record on Purple Pride day. The guys did a great job. They were great hams for pictures too! In some meets Vines wasjoined with Williams and Clark to compete against larger schools. The Viking wrestlers had a so called Varsity level for the more experienced and more competitive wrestlers. Whether varsity or not the team was excellent. They even com- peted against seniors and beat a few of them. At one meet, Vines VS. Richardson. Vines had 41 first places, and 3 third places. Other scores are as follows, Vines vs Skyline 52-6. Sunset tourny 15 of 21, Madison dual meet 30 of 38, Berkner dual meet 32-32. Jes- uit dual meet 56-6, Trinity meet 62-6, Bishop Lynch meet 39-27. FRS Q i island SL 3
