Orchestra - o Strings Attached Orchestra played their part in student activity this year. They raised money to go to a clinic and a contest at Six Flags through bake sales, donut sales. and sell- ing candy bars. They went to an U.I.L. contest and many of the Linda Zeiner day- Just another pretty face? Practicing towards perfec- tion. members received first division places in the solo ensemble con- test. Carmen Falls, Kristi Swier- enga, Michelle Gresset, Alfred Shen, and David Richardson, made all region orchestra. Car- man Falls and David Richardson C. J. Shen, Cheryl Hartman, and Luann Martin jiddle around on a new tune. Neal Marshal and David Richardson jammini also placed in all state orchestra and performed in San Antonio. We would like to congratulate these members of the Vines orchestra. The Beat Still Goes On. . . Many people think that when football season ended. the Viking Band finished for the year. But the band. directed by Mr. Finnell and Mr. Stubbs. worked even harder for many more events. Since the beginning of the year. the band members raised money for a trip to Houston in April. They sold magazine subscrip- tions. coupon books. pecans. and tickets to two performances. With the money raised. they went to Houston and competed in the Astroworld Band Festival. Contests are important in every band member's mind. At march- ing contest. on November 6. the Scott Gaulden keeps the band in Vines Band Offferg ,.,...... Mez...-u 1 Q,-...N ,.. .7 Everyone head for the busses
