.J orizonS FOREWORD Oh. the lour brief years of high school On the fleeting wings of time Bear us on to fields of vision Where we scale new heights'sublime; Yes, we. the graduating class of 1952, leave Vineland High School with great aspirations and face a divided and uncertain world. Uncertain—it seems as if that word has been with us for years. Just four short years ago, we entered Vineland High School as fresh- men, uncertain of what lay before us and what our high school days would be like. Now, as we say good- bye to Vineland High School, we give the impression of oil-seekers—uncertain of what we shall discover in our severed world—as it now is. We are certain only of one thing—that we are a generation of youth who has known nothing but wars, destructive and horribly devastating. Only through our background of learning and our knowledge of understanding can we have peace once again. The engineer drills and drills to find his precious oil and so we. by toiling and striving, will attain something precious to all of us—peaceful futures! Before we can set up our drills to begin our quest for oil , we first must attain this knowledge of understand- ing and then, if that is realized, our pursuit for mate- rial wealth will surely be fulfilled. Material wealth, to us. simply means successful and bright futures which will eventually stand for peace to all on earth. But, If this knowledge of understanding cannot be acquired, then the search for black gold continues, maybe in- definitely. We present in this, our yearbook, the highlights that made our senior year in high school a year that will never be forge tten. 2
