, M X I gn f - ,,-i, FUREIUUHD Pittsburghers take glowing pride in their crowning achievements in bridge building. The Steel City where bridges are born adds another interesting chapter to its story of Bridge Building in Nineteen Hundred Fifty-eight, its Bicentennial year. Pittsburgh contributed men and mate- rials for the construction of the world's largest suspension span, The Mackinac Straits Bridge, which was completed only a few months ago. Since bridges signify the idea of con- nection and crossing, graduation to us is symbolic of the bridge from adolescence into maturity. For twenty-five years the sheltering halls of Vincentian High School have sent forth into the dubious world determined young girls who have made successful crossings. The Senior Class of '58 has striven forward toward this goal. We must go on to bigger and greater bridges as did those who have preceded us. We are about to step from this bridge on to the solid ground of responsibility and service as young adults. As the leaves of time are recovered and remembered in this yearbook, journey with us over our span of time, from the dim yesterdays, to the vivid todays, into the hopeful tomorrows.
