REV. ADALBERT KAZINCY, A MAN OF ACTION l At no other time can we pay a more fitting tribute to Rev. Adalbert Kazincy than on this, the fiftieth anniversary of his ordination to the holy priesthood. Many years ago, as a young stalwart priest, he was assigned St. Michael's Parish in Brad- dock, Pa., Where a great number of Slovak immigrants had settled. Like St. Vincent de Paul, Father Kazincy realized that his spiritual children needed not only the solicitude of a father but also the love of a mother. V With determination and perseverance his voice echoed across the ocean again and again until finally his call was answered by five Vin- centian Sisters of Charity who came to Saint Michaelfs on November 13, 1902. To this great man of,action belongs the grat- itude of thousands of boys and girls who have grown up under the direction of the Vincen- tian Sisters of Charity. Without his undaunted courage and noble perseverance, there may have never been a V S C in U S A. Q66'caz'L'on We, the Senior class of '45, do most gratefully dedicate this book to those who made possible the excellent Catholic education we have received during our years at V H S. To Reverend Adalbert Kazincy through whose efforts our teachers, the Vincentian Sisters of Charity, were given an opportunity to labor for souls in the United States, as Well as to our dear parents to whom we owe an enormous debt of love, fidelity, and gratitude, we dedicate this publication of THE VINCENTIAN.
