CLASS PROPHECY As we Kenneth Powell and Charles Helnselman emerged from our off1ces 1n the 'Yew York Stock Exchange we mforrned our prlvate secretar1es Sandra Randolph and Juarnta Nlchols that we would be back ln t1me to take them to dmner We headed up Wall Street our destmatlon belng Flfth Avenue As we Started to cross at the corner of F1fth 8 Broadway a b1llboard at tracted our attentlon It announced that Charles N1chols motorcycle daredevll would be appearmg 1n the near future at Mad1son Square Garden He would be ass1sted by h1s able confederate Leonard Perme As we contmued up Broadway we saw an unbel1evable slght It was Henry Anderson r1d1ng a b1cycle and pass1ng every car he came to When talkmg to h1m later we d1scovered h1s l1cense had been revoked As Henry dlsappeared down the street a squad car peeled zround the corner drwen by Gary Gaughan and ass1sted by h1s L1eutenant Mltchell Lawrence About that t1me a b1g attractlon moved 1nto v1ew It was a clrcus bandwagon bearmg a slgn advertlsmg B111 Lott and Bertha E1chhorn Acrobattc Acts also appearmg at Mad1son Square Garden After all that walk1ng we were mlghty dry so we dec1ded to stop 1n at Gary Chrlstopher s famous Cockta1l Lounge for a cup of tea We had a short chat w1th hmm and he sa1d that he was domg very well m h1s present busmess We also not1ced that he had two wa1tresses whom we had seen before They were Carolyn B1lls and Mar garet Whealdon Margaret lnformed us that Helen Harvey was marr1ed and that she and her husband were havmg a great success as a dance team As we left Gary s place we summondedacab to escort us on up Broadway To our surpr1se the dr1ver of the cab was an old classmate Roberta Boyer As we stopped for a red llght we not1ced a fam1l1ar fr1end stand1ng on the corner It was Ron McCoy a successful art1st 1n the advert1s1ng f1eld and h1s topnotch ass1stant Roger Theobald Wh1le talkxng to Ron we d1scovered that Eugene Baxley owned a large ammal hospltal 1n the suburbs of New York We fxnally arrlved at our dest1nat1on the Conrad H1lton Hotel We were there to see Conrad about buylng lt When we asked for the manager we were surprlsed to see that lt was Don Green We were equally surpr1sed to learn that h1s sec retary was Glenda E111S We called for the bookkeepers who were Eleanor and Esther W1lfong and Thelma Marshall to show us the f1nanc1al stand1ng of the hotel Wh1le glanc1ng at the reglster we not1ced that Randall Coulson and Dav1d Place were 1n New York for the Shrmer s conventlon Don told us that Dor1s Hastlngs was a model for a large model agency and that Rachel Benedlct was a pr1vate secretary He also saxd that Margaret Stukey and Sandra Barnes were 1n New York ona vacat1on and were hav1ng the tlme of thelr l1ves When we left the hotel and started down the street we ran 1nto two b1gger execut1ves of New York C1ty They were Kenny Burnslde and Ronald Ollom They mformed us that Carol Stemple had been marr1ed to an offlcer of the law about two weeks ago They also sa1d that Donna Bowles had been marmed to a mmlster and that she and her busband were gettmg along fme By now 1t was t1me that we should be back to our off1ce When we arr1ved our secretar1es were wa1t1ng to go to dmner When we walked 1nto the restaurant we not1ced two people s1tt1ng 1n the corner who looked very fam1l1ar We later found out that they were Edna Hopkms and Darlene Mart1n and that the two of them were runmng a beauty salon Wh1le we were chattmg w1th them they told us Sharon Atk1nson was a nurse 1n a well known hosp1tal1n New York C1ty They also sa1d that J1m Suns had a law off1ce 1n New York and was very popular I 1 J L 1 .v , . , . , .. o ' I P , . , . 1 1 ' , . 1 1 , . 1 1 ' . . . . . , 1 1 44 - 11 ' ' ' 1 A, . , . 1 , . . . . . . - I I 1 - 1 , .
