SENIOR CLASS HISTORY In the fall of l948, twenty-eight of us walked bashfully into the Freshman room. We had two new students enter our class at the beginning of the year: Elnora Gollum and Bill Grimm, both from West Virginia. Mary Lou Lane withdrew from our class about Christmas time. She moved to Marietta and continued her studies at Marietta High School. We enjoyed the Freshman Initiation very much even though it was embarassing. The following officers presided over our freshman year: President ..... . .... Tom Barrett Vice President. . . . .Adeline Smith Secretary .......... Janice McV1car News Reporter ........ Betty Maze After a short vacation, we returned to attempt the next step up the Vincent High School stairs of education. We haped that none of us would stumble and fall into the valley of failure. Although the Word NSophomoren means wise and foolish, we thought it sounded important. Some of our classmates left school and we missed them very much. They were: Alberta Harvey, Paul Tulllus, Robert Maze, Garnett Jarvis, and Avery Snider. Don Roberts moved up to the Junior Class. The officers of our class were: President .......... Tom Barrett Vice President ..... . .Adeline Smith Secretary .......... Janice McV1car News Reporter ........ Betty Maze After a pleasant summer, we hurried back to school in September to take our places as Juniors. We had two new members in our class: Darrell Stevens from Bartlett and Roy Brannon from Lowell. Our officers for the year were: President .......... Tom Barrett Vice President ........ Darrell Knost Secretary . . . . .Janice Mcvicar Treasurer .......... Adeline Smith News Reporter ........ Betty Maze We received our class rings and were they 'flashyH. They were nice rings and we were very well pleased with them. In order to raise the funds needed for the annual Junior- Senior banquet we sold refreshments at half of the basketball games. We sold basketball schedule pencils but the orofit was small. On the fifteenth of December we sponsored the 'Sunshine Boysu radio program. We are now entering the last steps of our school days, we are all hoping we don't stumble somewhere along the way. We Seniors all have been very busy this year. We were glad to receive our name cards and our pictures. We sponsored a Donkey Basketball Game near the beginning of the school year. We also had some good riders. That brought us in some maney for a few of our needs. The Seniors have also been selling candy and popcorn at noons, so we were kept pretty busy. We have been selling candy at some of the basketball games. We Seniors are planning on going to Cincinnati on our Senior trip. We hope to enjoy ourselves. Our class officers for this year are: President .......... Tom Barrett Vice President ........ Don Greenlees Secretary . . . . .Elnora Collum Treasurer .......... Adeline Smith News Reporter ........ Janice McV1car Our class colors were: Blue and White, our flower is the white rosebud, and our motto is 'We Embark Today, We Sail Tomorrow'.
