We were walklng on down Front Street where I happened to glance mto the wxndow of the S1nger Sewmg Center Why that was Sara Jo Thornber ry We entered the bu1ld1ng to fmd her talklng to Mary Wentz Sara Jo was Manager of the Sewlng Center and Mary was here on a VlS1t from Columbus where her husband Hugh teaches at the Unnlversxty We boarded a Greyhound bus to Barlow My how that l1ttle town had grown There was a large restaurant r1ght xn the heart of the town and the former Seaman and Yost General Store was now a comblnatlon grocery and department store We were hungry and went mto the restaurant to eat Someone gave me a slap on the back Turnlng to see who It was I could hardly beheve my eyes to see Bud Foreman w1th Ins w1fe Ellen Love They were l1v1ng on h1s fathers farm m whxch he had a partnersh1p I heard a car stop and had to bl1nk my eyes to make sure I wasn t dreammg It was J1m Prltchett dr1v1ng a new Oldsmob1le and with h1m was Ray Elder J1m was now 1n the Packard and Oldsmobxle busmess and do1ng very well for hlmself 1n Cleveland Ray had a Job test1ng mattresses for the E Z Rest Manufacturmg Company of Tampa Florzda We started walkmg toward Vlncent when Herbxe Hunter plcked us up 1n hxs new Pontlac He had a Job wxth the Pontzac Manufacturmg Company ln Marletta He let us out at the h1gh school where we met Betty Reese Nma Mae Jones and Arlene Cooper They all looked happy Much to my surprxse the three of them were st1ll unmarried Betty had a cat and a parrot and worked 1n New York Arlene worked as a Secretary to the Supermtendent of Parkersburg H1gh School Nxna Mae was a Prlvate Secretary 1n Washxngton 1 questxoned them about James Maddox and Mar1lynne Scott It seems James IS the Prxvate Secretary to Robert Taft who IS Presldent Mar1lynne IS a bra1n spec1al1st now practxcmg 1n Chlcago lll1no1s We left them and as we entered the gymnaslum who should we meet but yes Bean1e Barnett and Gerald Orndoff Bean1e IS a teacher and also the coach of the Loc kland Wayne Hlgh School 1n Cmcmnatx H15 team IS the State Champxons Gerald IS the Democratxc Senator from Ohxo and It IS rumored that he w11l run for Presldent next term Gerald showed us a snapshot of Jxm Dav1s He IS now an Admxral 1n the Navy and marr1ed to Jean They own a home ln Norfolk V1rg1n1a The next person to greet me was Mrs W1ll1am Sadler the former V1rg1n1a Mclntlre She and Sam have a 75 acre farm 1n Waterford Vlrglhla told me Helen Young was marr1ed to T1m Reese and was l1v1ng 1n Dallas Texas Suddenly we heard a loud bang We all ran to mvestxgate the cause only to f1nd a car wxth a flat tlre But Walt why the drxver was Cleo Callxhan Wh1le the boys were f1x1ng the t1re she told us that she had marr1ed B111 Kaneff and they had three chlldren They l1ved ln Belpre ln a llttle whlte house Cleo showed a news paper whlch she had read In lt was a plcture of Lesl1e Dalton who IS now a mln 1ster It told of some of the good th1ngs he was do1ng 1n Indxa where he was an evangehst Last but far from least IS Jackle Anderson He IS a Lleutenant ln the Unxted States Army and has just come home from Okxnawa where he had been statloned He showed us some of the medals he had rece1ved I was scheduled to go back to work the next day and had to hurry to catch the last bus to Columbus As I relaxed agamst the seat I revlewed all the thmgs that had happened to me that day and knew that l would never forget that reun1on 13 1 1 , . . , . . . . . . . .
