Senzor Class Hzstory In the Fall of 1947 thxrty one trmrd but exclted boys and grrls entered the portals of Vrncent I-hgh School as the Freshman Class We had three new members wrth us th1s year James Dav1s, Marllynne 'cott and Avxs Dowler but we unfortu nately lost Agnes Francls and Rosalee West We were properly rmtxated mto the school by the Sophomores We enjoyed thxs party very much and we ll never forget the way some of us were dressed The followxng offlcers presxded over our Freshman Class Presrdent Nxna Mae .Tones Vrce Presldent Arlene Cooper Secretary Betty Reese Treasurer Wayne H111 News Reporter Shexla Robertson After a very pleasant vacatxon whrch we all enjoyed, we took one more step up the ladder of educatxon About the mrddle of the year we garned two new members and lost four of our fellow classmates Rebecca Collum and Carmellta Smxth entered our class whrle Lols Perdue Ray dolak Robert Wrllrams and George Wlllrams left our class Loxs Perdue chose marrlage rather than school George Wxlhams moved to Canton and Ray Dolak and Robert W11l1ams Jomed the Umted States Arr Force We remamed Z7 xn number In October we had our annual Freshman Imtxatxon They were wonderful sports and all of us enjoyed a lovely trme Our offrcers for thrs year were Presldent Arlene Cooper Secretary Robert Wrllrams Treasurer Marrlynne Scott News Reporters Leslxe Dalton James Maddox We occupled the th1rd of the four steps of educatron when next we entered school rn the Fall of 1949 The frrst rmportant task before us was to order our class rrngs Due to delay rn orderxng we recerved them rn February However he most rmportant task before We Juniors was to earn money to entertaln the Sen1ors rn the Sprmg The mdustrrous members of our class sold refreshments at half of all the basketball games whxle the Sen1ors sold at the remaxnmg number Thrs profxted us about 60 dollars We sold penczls wrth basketball schedules on them and thxs netted us about four dollars The last of March we sponsored Doc Wrllrams and Hrs Border Rxders, a radxo show from Wheelmg West Vlrglhla. and at last we had enough money to g1ve our J'un1oraSen1or banquet 1n honor of the Semors, Aprxl 21 1 50 Our offrcers were Presmdent Betty Reese Vrce Presxdent James Maddox Secretary Carmelrta Smxth Treasurer Jack Anderson News Reporter Della Mae Pyatt We lost two members of our class, Betty Anderson and Avzs Dowler who also chose matrxmony m preference to school After a very eventful summer we agarn entered Vxncent I-hgh as dxgmfled Seniors We sold refreshments at half of the basketball games and sold Chrzstmas cards also to make money for our Senror trzp and varxous Senror actrvltres 10 , .
