Presldent Margaret Dalton V1ce Presldent Donna Hannaman Secretary Ellzabeth Elder 'I reasurer Vlctor Groves News Reporter Adnenne Bond and Mlrlam Barnett At a later class meetlng we selected the Yellow Rose for our class flower, yellow and blue for our class colors and after some debate We Buxld the Ship ln Whlch We Sail for our class motto Some l1belous crltter hlnted The End justxfzes the Means would be more sultable I Besldes maklng a close study of a sure fire way to sklp class and Mr We1nstock at the same tlme we sponsored a 1-ad1o show Doc W1l11ams and I-hs Border Rlders We had a good crowd and made about s1xty dollars Durlng the first semester we lost one of our most lllustrlous members Annle Hale, to sunny Callfornla Later Edsel Alfred chucked school llfe for that of a Marlne and from all lndlcatlons he llkes h1s cholce In November we went on a Juncket to Flscher s Studlo ln Marletta and rulned a couple of cameras for hlm None of us were satxsfled w1th the results I guess the plctures looked too much l1ke us We recexved our name cards 1n January and were promptly mobbed that must be a slgn of popularlty Now we are trylng to select a play to be gxven later and also keep our grades above water We wlsh to say ln concluslon that we have enjoyed these four years We reallze that they have been the happ1est of our l1ves and It 1S wlth real regret that we end them We extend our deepest grat1tude to the teachers who have contrlbuted so r1chly to our l1ves THE They had told me I must prophesy But I knew not what to do For I was not born a prophet Any more than one of you I had spent the day ln study And 1n thlnkmg hard and deep So I now all worn and weary Lay me down and fell asleep I had la1n there but a moment In that slumber calm sweet When I rose, refreshed and strengthened And stepped out upon the street But I very soon dlscovered That I was 1n a strange place, For I saw not one known flgure Nor an old famlllar face I was ln a mammoth clty By the s1de of whlch I knew That New York, the natlon s glory, Would stand but a feeble showy Great skyscrapers all about meg Aeroplanes through all the aug Wonders far beyond conception Here and there and everywhere' CLASS Margaret Dalton Class of 1947 VISION I could scarce belleve my senses When I saw the alrshlp 11ne Bore the well known name of Vlncent Whlle the same gleamed from each slgn And my eyes were opened wlder Than they d ever been before When I saw a slip of paper Dated 1964 Whlle I puzzled o re this problen Starmg round wzth open eyes Looklng for someone to questlon Of thzs marvelous surpnse I beheld near me a lady Commg on with footsteps slow And I thought I would accost her And learn what I wlshed to know As she came to be stlll nearer I thought I had seen that face, Somewhere else, yet could not put it In exactly 1ts right place: But at last she stood before me, And all wonder vanished quite: T'was my old chum, Sarah Thomas, And I met her with delight. , . . . . It was strange that I should know her For the change ln her was great She was very tall and slender While she moved wlth queenly state She seemed qulte surprmsed to see me Sald I had been long away, And gave me an mvltatxon To remaxn wlth her that day Her kmd offer I accepted And she took me by the hand Led me to a near by roof top Where a sxgn sand, Taxl stand Down there swooped a plane before us Tax1 lady? came the cry Sarah entered and I followed And we mounted to the sky As we flew I watched the p11ot Buxom damsel with black han To whom this celestlal hacking Seemed an everyday affair When she turned around I knew her Knew her by her twlnklmg eye Betty Proctor and no other, Handsome wlde, and rldmg hlgh' Soon we fhtted past a corner That looked hke old tunes to me For It was the well known corner Where our High School used to be' Now the place was changed to show a Factory, twenty stones hzgh And I notlced a small flsh stand There,as we were passxng by And behmd the greasy counter Stood a man I knew at slght Yes for It was Vlctor Groves Shoutmg Flsh' with all h1s mlght I looked out at hun m wonder, For whoever would have thought That our old tune bnllxant treasurer Could to such a task be brought But the whole day brought surprises Bea was danclng on the stage Norma Lee was an opera smger Roland a preacher qulte the rage Edsel a soldler, Margaret an author Retha an old mamd pr1m and neat Mzrxam had grown so very heavy Antx Fat was all she'd eat Bye and bye we reached the home where Mary Lou llved her husband too But he was a travellng salesman So I dzdn t flnd out who' Ray McN1ece a farmer who grows Corn pumpkms potatoes and wheat He seemed quite happy and went Whxsthng away But I passed on to a castle so grand When whom should I see I m glad to say Gene Morns dlrectmg a band As on to another house I passed A sign over the door I read Kenneth Anderson The Lawyer and so I guessed That s how he earns his bread And to an offlce I found my way And through the door went boundmg Donna Hannaman was very busy The keys of a typewnter sounding Dean Flemmg next approached me Whlle pondering over past events I m lookmg for Pocahontas he quoted And on h1s way he went Now Charles the doctor accosted me thus When ln need of my servlces I m here To hls 1nv1tat1on I klndly rep11ed That It certainly was very queer Now ln a restaurant Adrlenne I sp1ed Wlth all her work and care Cookmg and baklng the thlngs she would need For her customers dally fare Alvin Ford hls amb1t1on has ga1ned To be a traffzc cop He sees that all laws are obeyed And all 'vlolatlons he qulckly stops Now 1n the path before me A fxgur nn black was dressed And why IS this I wanted to know It was Elvabeth I addressed You see ID days so long gone by True love never dxd run smooth And she said as a tear shone m her eye ' This costume I had to choose 1 7 -- 1 1 ' 1 - - . 1 . 1 . 1 1 1 1 . . . , . . . .
