MISS V.U. PAGEANT 2 a Dawna Cumbee puts much feeling into her song during the talent competition. Miss Cumbee was second runner-up in this year’s pageant. The ten coeds vying for the title of Miss Vincennes University pose with the current Miss V.U. before the pageant. The candidates are (I. to r.), Pam Smeltz, Lisa Christensen, Ty Herron, Dawna Cumbee, Keriem Taylor, Miss V.U. 1983 — Beth Whitesell, Kelly Daniels, Kelly Howell, Sharon McIntosh, Melissa VanMeter and Polly Nikirk. Melissa VanMeter, fourth runner-up, proceeds down the runway in the evening gown portion of the competition. Polly Nikirk dances her way to become first runner-up. 28
