Aino © OFT we YG: 4 A Message From The President First, let me extend my congratulations to the Class of 1980. It has been a real joy to have you with us at Vincennes University, and we bid you God’s speed in the years ahead as you utilize your educational experience received here and make your contribution to society. The year 1980 is a historic one for me personally, since it does complete my thirtieth year as President of Vincennes University. | am sure you join me in being thankful for the progress this Institution has made across those years. The first year | was here the enrollment was less than 200 and the program was exceedingly limited. Last spring we transferred 1649 students to 573 colleges and universities across the nation. Many of our graduate received scholarships to the universities to which they transferred. At the same time, the record of our occupational students is outstanding. The grand mean of the salaries in the position to which they went was $10,360 while they range up as high as $24,000 and $25,000 for a beginning student with two years of college. You should also know that we have received the record from our students of five years ago. The progress they have made and the salaries that they now received should lend encouragement to you all that the education they received at Vincennes University is an excellent basis on which to build. | hope you all realize that a job and a position are, afterall, only a part of the objectives of one’s life. Your contribution to the community, to the support and development of your family, and your leadership in general to society are of equal importance, if not more so, than the job you hold.
