Muckraker and consumer affairs expert Ralph Nader addressed the VU student body in an April convocation. ln his talk on Envi- ronmental Hazards: Man-Made and Man-Remedied he cited a drain ot courage in the pioneering ot better products and means of production by large corporations as a primary reason tor mony of the environmental problems and inferior products mar- keted today. Mr. Nader also spoke about the severe problem ot pollution, and concluded that if all citizens exerted iust a small eftort, the environment would be vastly improved. it Noder blasts the auto industry for contributing to pollution.

Music was provided by the Al Cobine Orchestra. President lsaac K. Beckes crowned Melanie Bliss, senior, as queen ofthe Spring Formal. She was selected from six candidates, including Carol Bowman, Gwen Gray, Jane Grimes, Gwen Shel- bourne, and Gladys Williams. An informal party sponsored by the Senior Class was held after- wards at Lake Sun and Sand. Back to Bock and Us were the featured bands. - ,,,, as Administration greets students in the receiving line
