SNYDER Principal Mr. Banks, superintendent of schools, and the School Board form the unseen governing power of our school system. These men work harmoniously to plan the instruction of the students and the policies of the schools of Vincennes. The members of this board, who are so in- terested in our problems, are Mr. Ben Kizer, Mr. Fred Kixmiller, and Mr. Maurice Boeckman. We cannot thank these men enough for their effective work to make our school system a better one. Our principal Mr. Snyder, has the difficult task of supervising the activities of Lincoln High School. With the help of our capable Dean of Girls, Miss Eppert, and our dependable Dean of Boys, Mr. Decker, our school functions most effic- iently. Through their efforts this school year has been one of great progress. All the students deeply appreciate the work of these splendid administrators. MR. RALPH H. These are the people who keep the building clean, warm, and neat. lt is to them that we owe the thanks for the well-ordered ap- pearance of our school. in... Uffflce pefwceffmef We shall not attempt to determine our office clerk's value in this school. When- ever a student needs information or ad- vice he can go to Mrs. Steinsberger. The 1950 football season provided one of the most triumphant and successful football teams in the history of the school, except in T946 when Vincennes was champion of the S.l.A.C. The persons who were responsible for this successful season were Head Coach George Inman and his staff, Assistant Coaches Oscar Finke and Wyant Baker. The' Alices had a remarkable season with 9 wins and l loss, piling up a total of 243 points to the opponents 52. So the scoring shows that the Alices were also a defensive team as well as an of- fensive one. Don Sweeney, 5' 11 tall, weighing 160 lbs, and was another tower of strength, playing at the opposite end from his buddy, Lance. Moved from guard to end in 1947, Don easily won the berth of regular end. Jack Reel, 6' 1 , weighing 200 lbs, was the immediate choice for tackle this year. He was also known for his kickoffs and points after touchdowns. He won his letter at tackle last year. Sam Thompson, whose 175 lbs, and height of 6' IW' weighed heavily on his side of the line, was an important factor in the success of the team this year. His second year as varsity tackle, he also plays baseball. Paul Knowles, 5' 11 tall, weighing 165 lbs, was the very aggressive center on the 1950 Alice team. incidentally, he's the son of a one-time Alice great, Jake Knowles. Phil Roellchen, 6' 3 tall, weighing 165 lbs, played right end. He also plays golf, and, like Paul, is the son of a former V. H. S. athlete, Ed Roellchen. Gerald Kopp, 6' 2 tall, weighing 185 lbs, played right tackle, dding his fair share in contributing to the Alice successes. Tom Goodman, 5' 4 tall, weighing 140 lbs, was the shortest man on the team, but was one of the fastest. ln his position as left .halfback he was a help both on offense as well as defense.
