Our principal, Mr. L. V. Phillips, was ap- pointed Commissioner of the Indiana High Schol Athletic Association. Mr. Roy R. Snyder. principal of Junior High, became new principal of Lincoln High. To Mr. Snyder's place as principal of J. H. S. was appointed Mr. Hubert Rice. To his place Miss Carrie Van Wey was appointed chemistry teacher There xx ere a lot ot changes in the faculty and vxe too hoped xxe had changed from the frightened freshmen of last year The football season xx as a good one and the basketball outlook bright In January of 1945 our plans unfurled to the xx onderful opening of the Canteen The swell times spent at the Can teen ale numerous Dreams do come true the vxar in Euiope xxas xvon and the following summei the Pacific xvar was won Ou1 Junior yeai was an outstanding one in our high school careers Campaign posters were 1n oider as election time rolled around and the offices xxeie flled as folloxxs P1 esident Warren Bixby Vice President Arnold Bowman T1easu1 er Dale Hudson Secietary Peggy Alexander Miss Carrie Van Wey and Mr Alwood a iexx comer to L H S were chosen to sponsor ou1 class The enthusiasm xx as great as the t1me rolled around for orders to be taken for class rings Wlth the piom looking us ln the face within the neai future we got to vxork eainlng money selling candy and cold drinks at the basketball games This xx as a slow but sure way of earn ing money to entertain the seniors at their spi 1ng prom The football team vxas a good one and de serx ed ou1 backing xxe gaxe them Our basketball team got off to a good stait and continued their good xx ork through t0lllIl6V the hospital xx ith an attack of appendlcitis only a fexx days before the tournament This xx as a shock to all Alice fans but xxith deteimination our team came out xlctorlous Foulnex Champs oui fnst sectional Championship in flxe yeais Our fnst piom xx as a xx ondei ful success but lemlnded us as xxe glanced into oul last yeai at Lincoln High that only one more ex ent such as this xx as 1n stole fo1 us Septembei 1946 found us staiting, our list yeai at Lincoln High School as Cllglllfled SQDIOIS As Fieshmen xxe didnt dleam that oui time as high school students could possiblx pass o quickly We all had in mind one aim-to make this the best year of our school days at L. Vice-President-Bob Mack Treasurer Paul Decker Secretaiy Katy Dodd Senior class sponsors were Vliss Carrie Van Wey and Mr Fred Alwood S I A C honors were shovxered upon our Cross Countiy Team and we all xx ere beaming xx ith pride Several records weie broken by outstanding margins When it rains it pours and so It did on our Football Team A most successful season was in store for the Allces making them also S I A C Champs The honor of receiving theS I A C Fresh man Basketball award xxas gixen the Little Alices Our basketball outlook wasn t the brlghtest but with a deteimmed new coach Jay Mc Creaiy a fighting team and the Alice boosters xx hat but good could come?
