J K bal OUR HIGH SCHOOL YEARS We used to look for ward to the year when we would be seniors a11d nearly out of school but now a lump seems to rise in our throats at the thought of leaving There are so many things that we will always remember about our four years 111 high school that may seem tr1v1al to others but mean very much to us We smiled at the freshmen who were lost during the first weeks of school Do you remember how lost and scared you were? The older students had told you it would be strange for a while but they had underestimated It by far It seemed that you would never know your way around but it d1dn t take so long after all did it? During the sophomore yea1 we had a chance to Join H1 Y Those who did Join per formed their dutles as freshmen faithfully and looked forward to the day when they too would be old members Those who preferred to spare themselves secretly or otherwise felt sorry for their classmates When we became Juniors we began to feel pretty important. We elected class officers and chose our class sponsors. We worked at the basketball games until we were dead tired, but wasn't it fun? Planning for and then attending the Junior-Senior Reception was our reward for our hard work. Now we have reached our last year and we are both happy and unhappy. It makes us feel pretty good to think that our efforts to make good in high school will soon be rewarded by a diploma, signifying that we have successfully completed the required work. When we think of the things that we will never experience again though, it makes us rather sad. The Junior Senior Reception, pep sessions, Wed- nesday morning programs, familiar faces in the halls of both teachers and classmates, Sentinel Potlucksg we'll miss all these and a thousand and one other things that made us love our four years at Lincoln High School.
