JOHNNY IS A BRAT Yes 1ts the truth Johnny IS a brat Our son IS the terror of the thlrd grade Chlldren hate h1m teach ers hate h1m even dogs and cats hate h1m And baby sltters why when I called a g1rl and asked her 1f she would take care of our l1ttle boy she mformed me she would rather take care of Frankenstems nephew than my son John So last Saturday nlght when My rona and I wanted to go to the movles I couldnt find anyone to baby s1t Myrona had phoned elghteen glrls and no one wanted to come But one of the glrls sald there was a new glrl ln the freshman class who hadnt heard about the adventures of John and mlght be dumb enough to come Well I called th1S glrl a MISS Judy Dodge and she Sald Sure Be there at 8 00 and Goodbye and even though I was glad to find a baby s1t ter I suddenly felt a surge of p1tv for thls poor unfortunate At elght o clock Myrona and I were ready and at elght ten Judy came Judy was wearmg a palr of horn rlmmed glasses and peerlng from be tween two large stacks of books a couple of record albums and an enor mous bag of popcorn I sa1d Good evenlng Judy started to say some thlng hesltated a mmute dropplng everJth1ng to the floor and openlng a French book and then Sald Bon so1r' Comment allez vous I Just love French dont you? Its such a ro mantle language Hold mv pop corn please Wh1le I was trvlng to figure out what she had Just sald she thrust the popcorn and French book 1nto mv arms grabbed up a record album and ran to the phonograph In a few minutes the room filled Wlth the VOICG of Marlo Lanza and Judy had landed on the couch and was volcmg crles of MHPIO Marlo Mvrona and I stared at each other then prepared to leave for the movles but Just then Marlo stopped wa1l1ng Judv came out of her trance and Johnnv entered the room Mx rona THE EXILE lo sald Johnny thls IS Judy Youll llke Judy No Sald John Now vou be good to Judy No sald John Myrona went over to the bookcase and brought out a book wh1ch she gave to Judy Now you read thlS book and you ll know Just how to cope wlth h1m Honestly I d be absolutely lost wlthout It Its called Chlldren Are People Too and 1tS Just got everythmg ln It Now you be good to h1m Judy Myrona finlshed and we left Johnny Judy Marlo and Chlld ren Are People Too All the way to the movles Myrona was marvelllng about Johnny s 1nd1 vldual personallty She wondered how th1s Dodge k1d would handle poor John and hls lndlvldual personality I dont thlnk she understands h1m the way we do Myrona exclalmed All the tlme I was th1nk1ng about poor poor Judy who was probably now ly1ng 1n a heap at the bottom of the cellar stalrs Flnally 1n the mlddle of the mov Myrona was so worrled about John that we had to go home We walked through the front door and found that Marlo had been replaced by Johnny Ray Judv was ln the mlddle of the John was nowhere to be found Wheres Johnny?
