President of Villanova To ignore a successful coexistence of contrasting views within a university atmosphere results in dissolution and destruction. To remain unaware and unmoved by present and often confusing problems and issues can only head to a dismal failure at best. In his third year as President, a position which too often carries more criticism than praise. Father Welsh has demonstrated the necessary courage to overcome and correct much of the backwardness that has marked past administrations. Father Welsh claims no panaceas for the university's problems which no one can solve in a year or maybe even in a generation.
