Through the faculty of the human rationale, two- hundred acres of land are transformed from a child’s mud-pie paradise into a projection of tomorrow from the seeds of today. The two are only chronologically distinct; for our todays are tomorrow-oriented, hang- ing delicately upon the midnight dials of our Timcx- wrists. The sun has risen and set in silence, both crcat and witnessing an unnumbered million of days. It passed over our Villanova microcosm for one hund and twenty-five years. This stoic observance, direc and to the seven seas and seven continents of eai is equally cast upon a 200 acre patch of edifying environment known as Villanova University. Under the same sun which splays us today, our English or Calculus professors gurgled their first words from their cribs, a calloused construction laborer laid the cornerstone of Tolentinc Hall, the seeds of Mendel field were transformed into summer grass, and the Pie Shoppe wasn’t. It is now 1968 and you are walking past that cor- nerstone and sitting in the Pie Shoppe that wasn’t. Today you witness the new cornerstone of a library, and tomorrow you will see more. t 4
