POTPOURRI OF SMELL: the unique eight o’clock combination of toothpaste, coffee and doughnuts; the ridiculously beautiful sensation that slowly employs your steps through the first spring thunder- shower; the smoke of burning colored leaves that spells Autumn; a pungent for- maldahyde aura, centralized in froggy-dead kegs and crayfishcd-containers of the ground floor of Mendel; rustling skirts and a half seen smile . . . the only immediate recollection of the occasional perfumed air that testifies the presence ... of woman . . . the alcoholic sweetness of freshly mimeo- graphed examination . . . which, depending upon one's preparation, may prove highly intoxicating . . . the slightly unpalatable atmosphere surrounding the Chemical En- gineering Pond . . . vaguely reminiscent of the Dismal Swamp in Southeastern Virginia . . . there is not a fragrance on the Villa- nova campus that has escaped the propin- quitous sniffing nose of the rambling Irish Setter . . . known to all as Big Red”. 13
