CODE OF DRESS 1. Always keep one ' s self neat and clean. 2. Jeans are not appropriate for school apparel. 3. T-Shirts (undershirt type) prohibited. 4. Metal heel and toe plates are prohibited. 5. Hair should be worn in a manner so it adds to one ' s appearance. Extreme hair styles do not add to the dignity or prestige of any student. 6. When the personal appearance of a student, either by dress or hair style, becomes conspicuous to teachers and student body, that student is not properly groomed. Some General School Regulations All students are to be ladies and gentlemen in that they observe the accepted forms of good behavior and respect for the rights of others. Students will not be allowed to chew gum during school hours. Students cannot remain in the building after school hours unless they are directly under the supervision of a teacher. No students in the junior high will be allowed to ride a motor bike or drive a car to school. Use of the office telephone is discouraged. Permission from the office must be obtained before using the phone. Trips to the dentist or doctor on school time are permissable if the principal is notified. Bus riders caruiot leave the school building at noon. Walkers may go home for lunch as long as they can do so in the time allotted. They cannot go anywhere except home. Pupils are required to have a corridor pass when leaving the classroom. Tardiness passes are issued from the office. The principal or guidance counselors will determine if the tardiness is excused or unexcused. An unexcused tardiness will cause 1% to be deducted from the student ' s 9 weeks grade in that subject to which he is tardy. In order to be excused from physical education classes for an extended length of time a written statement from a doctor must accompany the request. To get the most from school, one must have good attendance. When it is necessary for a pupil to be absent from school, we prefer that he bring a written excuse from home. If this is not possible he may fill out a Students Report of Absence Form. If for any reason a student finds it necessary to leave school during the day, he must secure permission from the office. A student returning to school during the day should report to the office. There are two types of absences- -excused and unexcused. In an unexcused absence 4% will be deducted from the student ' s 9 weeks grade for each day of absence. 47
