,r ,,, ,X i r i l , T Mil li lifl fi li liljff l' 0. Casey Hiedler found a friend during Senior Spirit Day. Live chickens ran wild all over the campus that day. Craig Anderson, Dave Dew, Brian Raum and Todd Moeller perform a lip sync to The Devil Went Down To Georgia during lunch. 0 how did the seniors win the west? Well, it was probably through the long, hard hours they spent painting, building and organizing on week days and weekends before Spirit Day. Sophomores couldn't believe their eyes when they entered school Thursday morning, said senior, Henry Wiehebrink. Seniors built props which included a saloon, a kissing booth and even campsites, complete with teepees and barbeque pits. Among the many signs vividly painted and hung around school were tumble weeds hauled in from the hills. Though they did create a small mess, they added reality to Villa Park's western theme. Lori Beechan commented, The school looked like some- thing you might see on 'Bonanza' The saloon, built by Dave Sach and Jason Ross, was the center of attention. Within the 35 minutes of lunch, the song leaders performed a can-can dance, a few guys along with dance choreography per- formed a square dance, other senior guys played banjos and guitars and lip synced to The Devil Went Down To Georgia, Kathy Bogart and Kyle Myers announced The Solid Rope Count Down and the Villa Park football team was saluted. At the end of lunch the seniors chanted: We are the class of 85, And we have won the west! We put the Chuds and Plebes to shame, The seniors are the best! Craig Anderson summed it up with, We weren't sure how much we had done when we were working on it, but when we put it all together we were amazed and happy with the results. Excited Seniors watch the show put on at lunch. The skits really held the crowd's interest,
