his year's spirit week came to an end Friday October I9 at the football game against El Modena. It was an exciting game which included a half time show where this year's Homecoming Queen Jennifer Dunn was crowned and the Homecoming King Hen- ry Wiehebrink was presented. Saturday night was the Homecoming Dance which highlighted this week's activities. Because of VPHS's tWentieth year anniversary Blue, Black, Silver - Twenty Years of Spartan Spir- it was the theme chosen. Unlike other dances, this year's Homecoming Dance, which was held in the school gym, had a video Dj where music videos were shown on a big screen. Couples enjoyed dancing to the music and watching the different videos. Junior Jami Karres stated: I think this was a great idea instead of just having a regular band of DJ because it was fun to dance and watch the vid- eos. Besides dancing, couples had their pictures taken and ate refreshments at the decorated ta- bles set up in the small gym. Many couples sat down and enjoyed the fun and romantic atmo- sphere, while others socialized and mingled with their friends. It was really memorable because of the entertainment and the happy atmospheref' commented Senior Matt Payne. wif ,lwfal ta great Homecoming iiiii .iiii iijiiii ..i, j think most peoplefhiqd 1 i.,. 1 711 1. ngoodetimei jc iiij ' At the Homecoming Dance Troy Finamore, Kathy Evett, Wendy McNaughton and Garrett Hichman rest in between dances.
