The Music department at Villa Park was run by Mr. Randy Coleman and Mr. Ron Browne. The entire program was full of award winning groups, including the various bands, orchestra, vocal groups and ensembles. The program was full of creativity and enthusi- asm. Both teachers had new ideas for a new group of students. The groups performed at various hap- penings and enjoyed the excitment of a good performance after much hard work. Students in these groups also learned a feeling of closeness that couldn't be replaced. Jokes were played, parties were had, and life long friendships were begun. You Twit! One of the few required courses History was an experience at each grade level. As a student in the sopho- more World History classes, one learned about the traditions, food, and lives of peoples from India to Africa. Students were exposed to the team teaching method in which classes were broken down into smaller units for cialized study. Projects were al- ways being done at the last min- ute, but no one noticed that the soy sauce was the missing ingre- dient when the China projects were taste-tested the next day. The US History teachers brought their eleventh graders into our nations' beginning up to present day political scandals. Students still wonder if there was a shot fired from the grassy knoll, or if Oswald acted alone. Mock trials with the class clown as the star witness who forgot his lines only added to an already interesting prosecution at the Boston Massa- cre Trial. Comparing Political Sys- tems or analyzing American De- mocracy was left up to the senior class. Through video tapes, film- strips, pamphlets, and teacher lectures students learned of our own system of government and how it compares to that of the Soviet Union. 3 Ill! 4 , .V W ,Y ek O .-v Q if I V..
