Seeking intellectual companionship, students H found their way to the math, chess and reading clubs on campus. Fun was combined with scholastics during discussions of current bestsellers and classics in reading club's monthly meetings. The club planned field trips with Mrs. Roberta Jester's French club before the fuel shortage caused cancellation of buses. Math and chess club members sought com- petition and learned new methods of attack and defense in club sponsored chess matches and mathematical contests. ' Academically honored CSF students par- ticipated in a field trip to UCLA and plan- ned a trip to a Los Angeles theater.
