Seconds minutes hours from beginning to end we mark our time. days go by weeks rush on and before we know it the year is gone the past but a flash in the mind The 1969 Odyssey is the story of a year's life crammed into a few short pages to be read and reread, the whole story won't be here, only pieces designed to bring a thought, recall a name, relive a memory if but for a minute, and once again see the faces of youthful spirit, and, as we pass from the Spartan forum the memories of our years at Villa Park High School will remain, recorded for eternity, in printed word and picture. 5

'Ga il ,R I , A l O, Moments in our busy lives flash back crowded yellow buses or rides too early the groups gathering before the start of class last minute homework a trip to the library A thousand trips to a locker crammed with books, papers, coats, lunches, and a hundred other things Serious discussions in classes plans to solve world problems discovered in a fifty-five minute period Sleeping through a monotoned lecture or whispering secrets across the six aisled room of the new boy in Algebra, or the girl in the white dress walking down the hall nutrition do-nuts, and busy gossip of the grapevine chatter, news of a first date, rumors of new romance, happenings at the dance last Friday night, and the game this week the laughter of the crowded lunchlines waiting for a six cent milk or an egg salad sandwich and cookies perhaps study one last time dangling conversations or time to think in quiet before the test next period . . . 7
