English, with its grammar drills and literature questions, poses a curriculum filled with diversity. A better understanding of Shakespeare was brought about by the viewing of the play As You Like It at Stratford on Avon. Word Power, a little book with too many words, brought about much discussion. Not another test! I don't care what --- means! Reading famous novels such as Great Expectations and the Red Badge Of Courage, and the works of Emerson and Thoreau kept paper- backs in constant use. All of this was cli- maxed by a Shakespearean festival in school.
