MATH EMATICS Mathematics can be fun when teaming to the tune of Aunt Emmyts carousel. Even tests can be more enjoy- able with the proper musical background. Although math is sometimes fun, it is still ten months, preparation for Regents and then, finding out you shouldtve pre- pared better during the year. For freshmen, its a new field opening up before them in the form of an introduction to algebra. Basic concepts and new techniques are constantly appearing and changing to add to the ever fascinating field of math. Magical numbers appear when you have to have an answer but you really don't know what you're doing. And when the year's all over, it seems that most stu- dents, after learning modern math, have forgotten how to add and subtract. 65 Karen Lesniak, Ann Marie Przybylak, Barbara Budek, Donna Solecki, Diane Wolinski, Carol Wojciechowski. Ium caretully. SCIENCE Science seeks to explain the impossible and open the mys- teries of life around us. In the classroom this is a difficult process. but science guaran- tees it to be fun. It offers a change to the student who finds that sitting in a class everyday bores her. Labs bring out her ingenuity. Dont worry if it doesn't come out right. we can always fudge it. Tests show the student the perils of goofing off in class. Isn't there a bonus ques- tion? So much to do, so much to learn, and only 50 minutes to do it all. ., tain after me! . Hey look!
