In any Catholic school Religion plays a major role in the lives of its students. This is particularly true at Villa lvlaria. ln formal religion classes the Catholic dogmas which animate all proceedings in school and out, are learned. The prayerflife of the students reaches into every activityfin solemn min' utes before the Blessed Sacrament, at tense moments hefore that momentous game, on the stage as Fathers hand is raised in blessing before the curtain opens. To keep Villa lvlarians spiritually on their toes, Retreat is a most necessary event. Annually, the entire student hody participates in this spiritual project.
