1 4- -C 1-'L Q xl XXV .gngrzs X. -,I W HISTORY OF CLASS Z5 AN It be poss1ble7 Are those shy and glgghng Freshxes of yesteryear the solemn and dlgnlfied Semors of 25' Yes they are the same but what changes Father Time has wrought 1n them w1th the passage of the years' As we look back upon the days gone by we see agam assembled at the foot of the h1l1 of Wlsdom on the road to Success ten httle girls wxth thelr proverblal brrght and shmmg faces and a1r of verdant freshness preparmg them are strangers to us sxnce wlth a they had constltuted our 1llustr1ous Elghth Grade of the precedlng year Never take a dare soon became therr motto and as a guldmg star they chose Naomx Hock for class presldent to lead the way Durmg thelr first year of Hlgh School the V1lla Madon na Orchestra was organlzed as the class grew It grew untll now as se date graduates they may vxew w1th prlde the success of thelr undertaklng Bravely they began to1l1ng upward stumblmg sometlmes but always re galfllflg thelr foothold Alded and en couraged by the1r teachers they trav eled along the unfamlllar road wasn t long though before they tasted a l1ttle of the bltterness of partmg when Helen Wallace dropped from thelr ranks and left a vacant place whxch tlme alone could fill As Freshmen they soon won for themselves wlde spread fame for they were the terror of the whole school no one knowlng who would be the next v1ct1m of the superabundance of the1r pep It was a wonder the1r teachers few exceptlons 1ge7zc1lyTuol weren t overcome m thelr struggle to tame these wlld Freshles and to har ness them to the yoke of Latm verbs and Algebralc squares The class m general was adept rn all actlvxtxes es peclally those whrch usually plac d them ln rxdlculous predlcaments But they were equally as skllled ln extrl catlng themselves from these harassmg entanglements as they were xn mvolv mg themselves Their effervescent energy was always overflowmg ln some resulted dxsastrously Thls however only served to add varlety to thelr by no means uneventful llves The followlng September found them ready to start onward agam wlth renewed vlgor and courage They found to therr dlsappoxntment how ever that three of thexr compamons Katherme Beebe Evelyn Sh1nhelm and Helen Dlnger had fallen from the ranks But along came Rose and Mar garet Dunaway and Katherme Vogel gesang to Jom thexr group and help them carry the1r Burden of Knowledge now mcreasxng m welght Although the progress was sometlmes dlfhcult and the path forbrddlng and narrow the grlrs never left thelr faces Losmg but l1ttle of thelr characterxstxc optlm 1sm they acqurred prudence as they contlnued on thelr way yet try as they would thelr bubblmg sp1r1ts contmued to get them lnto trouble They soon became qulte famrllar w1th the office but strange to say famlharnty bred re spect rather than contempt Wlth courage 1n thelr hearts they wended their way slowly but surely followmg closely m the footsteps of JY -W -4, ik, .54 sf -Ts'-:L.
