Foreword The lights flash across the set, the script girl settles comfortably into her chair in the wings, and the harassed directors can at last take a deep breath and watch with pride and full assurance of a perfect scene as another finished production takes its place among the smash-hits of other years and another half-hundred young actors take their places before the footlights on the great stage of life. Some few will have starring roles thus winning the acclamation of hundredsg most of us will play only obscure bit-parts in the adult world. But whatever the future holds for the mid-century graduates, they'll be playing their parts to the best of their ability in the tradition instilled in them by the loyal directors, the faculty, in the four mem- orable years spent in training and preparation for their debut into independence.
