Iunior class plans prom Every year the Iunior class honors the senior class by putting on the prom. This year the Iunior class is honoring the Senior class of 82. Iuniors work many hard hours preparing for the prom. These hours are spent in preparation of the decora- tion, decision of band, picture background, etc .... Number 50, a 5'7 guard who sometimes plays forward, averages eleven points per game with an all-time high of twenty points. Amy got started playing basektball at Howell Intermediate, the first year VISD decided to hold Ir. High Competition for girls in 1977-1978. Since then she has attended a workshop at UHVC, help- ing her team to gain their District Champ title as a Sophomore and winning the State Tournament for 1982. One of Amy's closest friends, Sherry Hauglum, seems to have helped her tremendously. Augy got me started in Ir. High and has worked with me ever since, says Amy. She's not only in basketball but in softball, also. Amy has played fast pitch for seven years and is starting her second year for the slow pitch league. She occasionally plays tennis. It seems to many of us that Amy Alkek is an all-around gifted athlete and we are very glad to have her here on campus. 82 X juniors
