Varsity tennis has successful yean The 1981-'82 school year was a good season for the Varsity Tennis Team. They attended tour- naments in Brazosvvood, Wharton, Bryan, and Austin including the district tournament. Billie Henk and Nancy Ienkins played doubles and won the district and Austin tournaments. They also placed second in Wharton. Tami Garrett, a newcomer to VHS won the tournament at Wharton in singles while winning second in Bryan an fourth at district. Freshman Iohn Sullivan also woj the Wharton tournament and placed second ir Austin and second at district with his singles strategy. Nancy Ienkins played singles ir Brazoswood, placing first.
