Most people can't find much satisfaction in working out at 5:45 in the mornings, fourth period class, and a whole lot of on your own running, A group of very dedicated girls have found satisfac- tion and quite a bit of glory in this sport, that is the Stingarette Cross County team. These girls have Margaret Thompson runs tough between Eagle runners. The silgn of true Stingarette determination by Betty Shock ey. A-ng l Girls strive to win competed on anything from the beaches of Corpus Christi, to the cow pastures of Bay City, to the forest of Austin. The dedication of these girls have paid off when they won the district title and an opporf tunity to compete at the regional meet. I S . Sport of determination Victoria High Cross Country is a sport that doesn't exactly appeal to all walks of life. It takes a very special type of person to dedicate several years to be the type of superior athlete that it takes to be a cross country contender. It is not the type of sport that one decides to participate in over night. The VHS cross country teams are a group of athletes which have ex- celled to great heights.
