Most people can't find much satisfaction in working out at 5:45 in the mornings, fourth period class, and a whole lot of on your own running, A group of very dedicated girls have found satisfac- tion and quite a bit of glory in this sport, that is the Stingarette Cross County team. A-ng l Girls strive to win competed on anything from the beaches of Corpus Christi, to the cow pastures of Bay City, to the forest of Austin. The dedication of these girls have paid off when they won the district title and an opporf tunity to compete at the regional meet. I S . Coaches Don Hicks, Zoe Simpson, Wayne Stewart, Robert Tripson, Dwight Harris, Bill Iackson, and Gary Hackney. he trainers and managers of the Victoria ,gh School Stingarees are an important part bur football team. Although they don't play e game, they work just as hard. They help lap things running smoothly throughout the ason. They include Mark Brooks ftrainerl, 'eg Gomez, Eric Vaughan, will Branch, ad Mitchell, Doug Hadley lmgr.j and :rald Washburn lmgtxl. The VHS coaching staff puts in many long hours preparing the Stings for each game. These men don't think of this as a 9 to 5 job, but as a way of life. These coaches have spent most of their lives with football, and intend to pass it on. They have done a great job this year working with the mighty Stingarees.
