ildcats stifle Stingarees The Angleton Wildcats blasted the Stingarees 32-6 in an important District 25-5A game. In the first half of the game, the Stingarees trailed by a meager 12- 6. Victoria's lone score, which knotted the score at 6-6 in the second quarter, came on a two-yard run by Curtis Adams. With this loss, the Stingaree record fell to 5-4 on the year and 1-4 in the league play. Farewell, hello heard at banquet The 1981 football banquet was the setting for a change in command of the stingaree coaching staff. Retiring stingaree coach Scott Boyd, and incoming coach Alan Weddell teamed up with Rice University headcoach Ray Alborn and the Stingaree Boosters to honor the entire 1981 squad. Five seniors were targeted for special praise during the banquet. Courtney Wash was a second-team all- state and first-team District 25-5A selection. Sammy Flores was a second-team all-district pick. Robert Vasquez was the first Stingaree four-year letterman. Great decorations for the football banquet. Iason Elder and Michelle Ledet enjoy the banquet.
