Stings lose district opener The Victoria Stingarees opened district 25-AAAAA competition with 1 27-7 loss to the Lamar Mustangs. Dropping from the ranks of undefeatec teams, the loss left Victoria standing at 4-1 for the season and 0-1 in leagui play. Iet Brown ran a 44-yard dash down the left sideline, giving Victoria it only edge of the evening as the Stings rode a 7-0 lead into the seconr quarter. Losing streak snapped The Stingarees rallied against the Sandcrabs, coming away with the 20-7 win which snapped a two-game losing streak. The win upped the Sting's overall record to 5-2, giving them a 1-2 in District 25-5A play. Ieff Payne rushed for the most yards with 88 in 13 carries. Charles King was close behind with 81 yards.
