% a THE PIRATE Victoria College Victoria, Texas 1971 f . 1 :- w . . m: . FLOWER MARCH In fields forgotten long ago, Beneath the morning sun, A flower opened up to go Upon a march that had begun. The road was long and obstacled With dangers on the way. But never have the flowers felt The like of fears they feel today. A pallor hangs upon the earth; A darkness fills the air. Yet still the seeds do split in birth. Implanting children everywhere. Though man has fouled their native soil And then debased the skies. For every bud that chokes in oil, A thousand more will surely rise. — William Zafereo n V4J ( i ' « — - i- 1 • CAMPUS LIFE m mm ■|yj |;f w..
